It was a real pleasure to visit Slovenia recently after almost a year away, and limited travelling owing to the Covid pandemic.
There was no real difficulty to travel and I took a direct flight from London Gatwick to Ljubljana airport. In recent previous years, I have taken a lot of indirect flights via Istanbul or Frankfurt or other intermediate destinations. It is definitely better to fly direct, even if you have to pay more to do so. The convenience of a one-leg journey without the need to catch a connecting flight in an airport that could be further away than your destination, for example flying via Istanbul involves 2 journey legs that are each longer than the direct distance from the UK to Slovenia.
